Professor Mat Collins, Co-Investigator

Professor Mat Collins is Joint Met Office Chair in Climate Systems within Exeter Climate Systems, which is part of the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the University of Exeter.

He was previously the Manager of Ensemble Climate Prediction at the Met Office Hadley Centre (MOHC) during the period 2003-10. His research interests are in quantifying uncertainty and probabilistic climate prediction, seasonal to decadal climate predictability and prediction and in understanding climate variability. He has over 80 peer-reviewed publications and has been a contributing author on two of the most recent IPCC reports. He was recently appointed to the International CLIVAR Pacific Implementation Panel and is serving as a Coordinating Lead Author on the IPCC AR5.
