News: Declassified sub data to shed light on Arctic

Dr John Allen speaks to Science Magazine about the Royal Navy declassification of submarine information in the Arctic which has allowed his project "to help track the regionÂ’'s changing climate".

The article explains that even without precise locations, the data can provide a valuable, long-term series of snapshots of the changing chemistry of Arctic waters. In particular they will help scientists compare the time scales of temperature changes in ice-covered waters with those in ice-free waters.
